What is India Bazaar? India Bazaar is the online shopping portal of Mariajju Exports. Several years ago when Marilyn first visited India she was able to tour and see much of the side of India. She was very interested in tribal life of India. Marilyn wanted to buy some of the wonderful Indian crafts for her and family. Ajay took her out into the country side of India where the actual hand crafts were manufactured. She really appreciated the variety of hand crafted work. She was surprised that the people in India work for such very low wages. Many of the artists work for several days on one painting and other hand made items and get only 10 to 15$ for their work. The artists in turn sold their work to retailers who resold these wonderful painting or handicrafts to tourists for many time the amount of money they paid. It didn’t seem fair to the craftsmen.
What is Mariajju Exports? Marilyn and Ajay decided to found a company together. This new company they named Mariajju Exports and the purpose was to introduce Indian art and crafts to America. Mariajju Exports started their business with only the idea or offering merchandise from India which would depict the handicrafts of rural Indian people. Marilyn and Ajay spent many days searching the outlaying towns surrounding Udaipur for the best crafts of India which they could sell to people at the best reasonable prices. They started Mariajju Exports with only a few very select items….but it didn’t take long for the word to get around and then many rural families wanted to join Mariajju with there hand crafted items. Soon Mariajju Exports were able to introduce more and more items of India. Now, Mariajju Exports can offer their customers almost every kind of Hand craft from India. They even can offer custom made clothing made to exact measurements of their customers.
Why prices are lower compare then other countries? India is a poor country in comparison to other American and European countries. Most of hand craft families only earn $100 to $150 per month. Mostly Indians agree to work for $40 to $50 a month. Yes, many Indians are very rich then compare then others. There is a long chain between manufacture and buyer, so retailers always make much more then their craftsmen do. Yet still 80% of Indians belong from the tribal part of India.

Are they employees of Mariajju Exports? No, these crafters only get paid when they get an order from us. They do work for other companies to, but they know Mariajju is special for them because they get paid more then other companies pay them. Why do they get paid more then other companies pay them? Mariajju believes they have rights to be paid enough for their craftsmanship. Mariajju believes that good workmanship deserves good pay… but still, Mariajju can offer better prices then many other companies.
Why India Bazaar has special offers at Discount prices? When any craft person or family does not get enough order for a certain period of time, they offer Mariajju Exports special prices so they will get more business. Mariajju Exports can pass these savings on to you. Only as long as they agree to do there craft in discount prices will these special offers continue.
Does India Bazaar only sell in USA and stock in USA? India Bazaar does not stock any items in India or in USA. When ever any order is placed by any buyer the merchandise is always made specially according orders. These orders usually take a week to 2 weeks to be completed. Yes India Bazaar sells Indian crafts online to all world countries. Prices are listed in US dollars. Other countries buyers can pay in dollars or euro. India Bazaar has a special agreement with Airborne and DHL representatives in India. Express services are used to ship items in USA in very reasonable price to the customer. Most shipments go from $12 to $20 depend on weight. If any order comes from a different country shipping costs will vary according to the country it is going to.
Who is Marilyn? Marilyn is from America. Non profitable director of Mariajju exports. She never gets paid from India Bazaar. She just loves Indian peoples and Social work. Marilyn specially visits once a year to India and she meets with our crafters and helps them to improve craft according to the requirements of other countries. She stays six month a year in India. Marilyn also helps in payment system of India bazaar. Many payments go through Marilyn and are transferred to our Indian account.
Who is Ajay? Ajay is the Indian director of Mariajju Exports. He manages all online orders. Ajay is from an Indian family who does some of Mariajju’s Indian crafts. Ajay is responsible for the management of Mariajju Exports’ retail sales, purchasing and total administrative duties.
Do we have to pay Import duty on my merchandise? No. India Bazaar only sells Indian craft merchandise directly to the buyer. India Bazaar does not sell in bulk to any importer. Your order will be shipped directly to you by Mariajju. We can deliver to your home and you don’t have to pay any Import duty on shopping under $400.
Can I help to India bazaar? India bazaar is not an Organization and does not accept any kind of donations. India Bazaar believes every person can only earn money if they can do hard work. India Bazaar doesn’t support any kind of donations. India is rich country of art and crafts and it only needs to introduce Indian crafts to the world.
